UNION, WV – Lillian Pence Wickline Hill, age 99, of Union, WV passed away Wednesday, April 22, 2015 at Greenbrier Valley Medical Center, Fairlea, WV following a sudden illness. Born February 14, 1916 at Sarton, WV she was the daughter of the late Andrew and Lula Baker Pence. Mrs. Hill was a retired Post Office Employee at Gap Mills, WV and was the eldest member of the Mt. Alexander United Methodist Church at Sarton.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her first husband, Willie Owen Wickline; her second husband, Dwight Irving Hill; one son, Leroy Edgar Wickline, one infant daughter, Lois Jean Wickline, one step-son, Fletcher "Sonny" Hill, seven sisters, Bernice Weikle, Kathleen Furrow, Pauline Parker, Agnes Pence, Lula Belle Pence, Hazel Perkins, and Mary Cummings; two brothers, Andrew Preston Pence and Maynard Pence.
Survivors include, one son, Richard Wickline and wife Helen of Lordstown, OH; two daughters, Phyllis Wickline of Union, WV and Violet Maxine Bryant of Belvedere, SC; one daughter-in-law, Sue Wickline of Union, WV; one brother, Millard Pence and wife Charlotte of Sarton, WV; ten grandchildren, eighteen great-grandchildren, and ten great-great- grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. Monday, April 27, 2015 at the Groves Funeral Home Chapel in Union, WV with Rev. Terry Utterback officiating. Burial will follow in the Mt. Alexander Church Cemetery at Sarton, WV. Grandsons will serve as Pallbearers. Friends may call Sunday, April 26, 2015 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
