CLIFTON FORGE, VA --- Lesley Seibert "Les" Honaker, 72, of Clifton Forge, VA, passed away Saturday, April 14, 2018 at Salem Veterans Affairs Medical Center, Salem, VA after a long illness. Born in Union, WV June 30, 1945 he was the son of the late Marshall and Edith Honaker. Les was a US Navy veteran and served a tour of duty in Vietnam. He was a pipefitter, carpenter, former Bluestone Farms employee, custodian at Covington Schools, and beekeeper. He was an avid hunter, fisherman, and outdoorsman, and enjoyed gardening.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a brother, Edison. Survivors include his wife, Gail of Clifton Forge, VA; four daughters, Gina Honaker of Gap Mills, WV, Scarlet Crowder and husband Kameron of Hematite, VA, Melina Rogers and husband Matt of Hot Springs, VA, and Kristi Walker and companion Sam Wickline of New Orleans, LA; four sons, Bob Honaker and wife Heather of Union, WV, Lesley S. Honaker II of Boston, MA, Craig Honaker and companion, Ashley Jones of Gap Mills, WV, and Travis Honaker and wife Jennifer of Houston, TX; two step-children, Shawn Persinger of Scottsdale, AZ and Celena Beverstock of Coleman, FL; a special friend, Myra Persinger, "second wife" of Clifton Forge, VA; two brothers, Marvin Honaker of Union, WV and John Honaker and wife Edna of Union, WV; thirty two grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
At his request, Les was cremated. Two celebrations honoring Les's life will be held. The first will be on Friday, April 27, 2018 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Groves Funeral Home Chapel in Union, WV. The second will be held on Saturday, June 30, 2018 from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. at the Groves Funeral Home Chapel in Union, WV. Family will also gather afterwards at the homeplace in Union, WV.
