UNION, WV --- Lena Mae Spurlin, age 79 of Union, WV, peacefully passed away at her residence on Friday, October 16, 2020. She was born at home in Greenbrier County, WV, November 26, 1940 and was the daughter of the late Willis Werdan and Bertha Mae Asbury Nelson. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband William E. Mohler; two brothers, Barry Nolan and Billy Ray Nelson. Survivors include, one daughter, Beverly S. Ittenbach and her son, Carson. One son, Mallie C. Spurlin III and wife Donna; stepdaughter, Deborah E. Mohler and Stepson, Donald Mohler; two sisters, Lona Alice Cade and husband Clyde, and Loretta Gaye Hawn and husband Charles. Three grandchildren; and eleven great-grandchildren.

In Lena's lifetime she always had a smile for everyone she came in contact with. She loved children, animals, and the elderly. She enjoyed caring for people and she did so during her career as a nurse, until her retirement in 2004. She was the greatest mother and grandmother anyone could ask for and she will be missed dearly by her family and friends.
