GREENVILLE, WV --- Lelia Juanita Church Hughes, age 85, of Greenville, WV passed away Tuesday, January 9, 2018 at her residence. Born October 7, 1932 at Keystone, WV she was the daughter of the late John and Ivy Jane Lambert Church. Mrs. Hughes was a devoted homemaker who loved her family. She enjoyed embroidering and she also enjoyed collecting salt and pepper shakers. Mrs. Hughes attended the Union Memorial Baptist Church in Union, WV.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Thomas Hughes; an infant daughter, Dorothy Hughes; two brothers, Claude and William Church; and one sister, Ethel Snow. Survivors include four sons, Charles Hughes and wife Deborah of Cool Ridge, WV, Carl Hughes of Greenville, WV, David Hughes of Greenville, WV, Roy Hughes of Gap Mills, WV; three daughters, Linda Agee of Peterstown, WV, Dora Jean Brown and husband Jerry of Fredericksburg, VA, and Katie Walters and husband Allen of Union, WV; four grandchildren, Susan Sabella and husband Nick of Wallace, NC, Johnnie Agee of Orlando, FL, Joshua Brown of Fredericksburg, VA, Ethan Hughes of Gap Mills, WV; special niece, Barbra Ann Snow of Orangeville, CA.
Private graveside services will be held at a later date where Pastor Mark Shafer will officiate for the family. Roger Pitzer, Charlie Walters, Allen Walters, David Christian, Joe Crawford, and Dickie Mann will serve as Pallbearers.
