GAP MILLS, WV --- Larry "Joe" Lucas of Gap Mills, WV, was a retired steel worker. He passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday August 31, 2022 at the age of 74. Joe was born in Giles County, VA on November 1, 1947 the son of the late Willie and Ada Craft Lucas.

He is survived by his two daughters, Julie and Sandra, two grandchildren, Jennifer and Justin. Three brothers, Curtis Lucas and Martha, Danny Lucas, and Micky Lucas; five sisters, Linda Gabbert and Larry, Brenda Boswell and Jimmy, Judy Lafon, Marilyn Dowdy and Leon, and Donna Martin and Lee; numerous nephews and nieces.

Joe was a devoted father and loved by many. He loved hunting, fishing, and just being outdoors. He opened his heart to many people over the years and will be sadly missed by family and friends.

In keeping with Joe's wishes, he will be cremated, and a private memorial service will be held at a later date by his loving family.
