Lacy C. Kast, 72, of Gap Mills, passed away Monday morning, June 9, 2014 at the his home following a long illness.
He was born at Gold Bond, Va., December 3, 1941 a son of the late James David and Virginia Idaclare "Geneva" Jennings Kast.
Mr. Kast was a disabled BF Goodrich Employee, a Veteran of the U.S. Army serving as a paratrooper during the Vietnam War, and he was affiliated with the Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by 3 brothers, Alfred, Donald and Emmett Kast and a sister, Ivey Eanes.
Surviving is his wife, Lola Jeanette Caldwell Kast of Gap Mills; a son, Christopher James Kast and wife, Breanne of Fairmont; 2 step sons, Lonnie Hoke of Gap Mills and Michael Hoke, Sr. of Union; 5 sisters, Gladys Wood of Peterstown, Gladiola Dolinger and husband, Clate of Pembroke, Va., Rowena Harvey and husband, Homer of Willow Bend, Ellen Davis and husband, Jim of Rock, Wanda Scholls and husband, Ralph of Lancaster, Ohio; sister-in-law, Stella Kast of Christiansburg, Va.; 9 step grandchildren, 11 step great grandchildren and 17 nieces and nephews.
Graveside Rites will be held 2:00 pm. Wednesday, June 11, 2014 at the New Lebanon Cemetery at Pickaway with the Rev. George Clarkson officiating.
