Obituary

CLINTONVILLE, WV --- Kenneth "Kenny" Lee Copeland, age 76, of Clintonville, WV, passed away Saturday, October 20, 2018 at the Brier Nursing Home in Ronceverte, WV with his wife by his side, following a courageous battle against cancer. Born May 12, 1942 at Wayside, WV, he was the son of the late William Riley "Junior" and Pauline Mann Copeland. Kenny graduated from Greenville High School where he participated in basketball and baseball. He reigned as the school's Fall Festival King for two years. Kenny's former careers included being a salesman for Fisher Auto Parts and General Manager for the Greenbrier Stockyard Market. He was a respected licensed livestock dealer with clients and associates from several states. Kenny loved the livestock business and worked in that capacity until his illness made it no longer possible. He was a member of the Sunrise Chapel Church. He was active for many years in the Clintonville Ruritan Club having received the "Outstanding President's" award from Ruritan National and the "Ruritan of the year" award for his dedication and service. As a young man, he served several years in the WV National Guard. He was an avid WVU fan, loving both football and basketball. Kenny was a dedicated supporter of FFA and 4-H programs. He would purchase most of the 4-H lambs at the West Virginia State Fair each year and received countless thank-you notes from 4-Hers from around the area.
He is survived by his loving family, including his wife, Becky Clark Copeland; daughter, Melody Loudermilk and husband Terry of Clintonville, WV; son, Jeff Sanger of Limestone, TN; brother, Bill Copeland and wife Nancy of Lewisburg, WV; grandsons, Jordan Loudermilk and Luke Sanger; step-daughter, Heather K. Pence of Peterstown, WV; special cousin, Brenda Foster of Greenville, WV; and special friend, Ronnie Lemons and wife Dorothy of Lewisburg, WV. Also surviving are three step-sons, seven step-grandchildren, two step-great grandchildren, an aunt, many cousins, dear friends, and his four beloved pets.
The family would like to give a special thanks to the Brier Nursing Home in Ronceverte, WV for the kindness and care given to Kenny during his stay.
Graveside services will be held 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, October 24, 2018 in the Greenville United Methodist Church Cemetery at Greenville, WV with Pastor Jim Rogers officiating. Justin Loudermilk, Terry Loudermilk, Andrew Lemons, Ronnie Lemons, Gavin Copeland, and Ed Carter will serve as Pallbearers. Friends may call Wednesday, October 24, 2018 from 12:00 noon until 1:30 p.m. at the Groves-Mann Funeral Home in Union, WV.
