Obituary

GAP MILLS, WV--- Kenneth Leon Anderson, age 78, of Gap Mills, WV, passed away Saturday, November 28, 2015 at his home following a long illness. Born December 26, 1936 he was the son of the late Woodrow and Lonie Bermutis Smith Anderson. He worked as a Foreman for 16 years in a box manufacturing plant in Baltimore, Md. and he also worked as a timberman and a construction worker.
Kenneth loved gardening and he was a member of the Union Church of God at Union.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his Step-Mother, Claudine Anderson; his twin brother, Kinton Lee Anderson and a sister, Cathy Adkins.
Surviving are his wife of 57 years, Ellen Lee Wilcox Anderson of Gap Mills; two daughters, Brenda Heagy and her companion, Clark Blankenship of Gap Mills, Karen Falls and husband, Junior of Frankford; a son Kenneth Lee Anderson and companion, Cookie Cole of Salt Sulphur; 4 brothers, Thomas W. Anderson of Richmond, VA., William Anderson and wife, Norma Gene of Baltimore, MD., David Anderson and wife, Evelyn of Pickaway and Charles Anderson of Covington, VA.; 4 sisters, Carol Fox of Bluefield, VA., Patty Bryan and husband, Arthur of Covington, VA., Teresa Dressler and husband, Sam of Covington, VA,. Melissa Ross of Ronceverte; 4 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren, several nieces, nephews and cousins also survive.
Funeral services will be held 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, December 2, 2015 at the Union Church of God in Union with Rev. Mike Smith officiating. Burial will follow in Pine Grove Memorial Gardens at Lindside. Friends may call Tuesday, December 1, 2015 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Groves Funeral Home in Union and at the church one hour prior to the services.
