WHITE SULPHUR SPRINGS, WV --- Katherine Virginia Patterson, age 95, of White Sulphur Springs, WV, passed away Thursday, January 16, 2020 at Greenbrier Valley Medical Center. Born November 25, 1924 at Union, WV, she was the daughter of the late Homer and Mary Gooch Patterson. Katherine was retired from the Greenbrier Hotel, where she had worked in housekeeping.  She was always "on the go" traveling around with folks all the time. Katherine never met a stranger. The family would like to express their sincere appreciation for all of the people that gave their mother a ride from place to place and made sure she got home safely throughout the years. She was a member of the First Church of God in Christ at White Sulphur.

In addition to her parents she was preceded by one son, Gary Patterson; ten brothers, Edward, Okey, George Triplett, Robert, Lawrence, Ernest, Harold, Herman, Richard, and Jimmy; five sisters, Thelma, Irene, Roberta, Glenna, and Lorane. Survivors include, one son, Roger Patterson and wife Michelle of White Sulphur Springs, WV; one daughter, Marilyn Patterson of Huntington, WV; two brothers, Clarence Patterson and wife Barbara of Brooklyn, NY, and David Patterson and wife Carolyn of Nokesville, VA; one sister, Louetta Patterson of Columbus, OH; eight grandchildren, Damion Patterson, Brandi Hollingshead, Tanesha Lee, Derrick Patterson, Nick Carrington, Breonna Patterson, Isaac Patterson, and Jordan Patterson; several great grandchildren; several great-great grandchildren, and nieces, nephews, and cousins also survive.

Funeral service will be held 2:00 p.m. Saturday, February 1, 2020 at the Groves-Mann Funeral Home Chapel in Union, WV with Elder Randall Allen and Rev. Greg Scott officiating. The family will receive friends Saturday, February 1, 2020 from 1:00 p.m. until time of services at the funeral home.
