Judy Dunbar Wickline's Obituary
UNION, WV --- Judy Dunbar Wickline, 75, of Union passed away Saturday, June 3rd, 2017 at the Charleston Area Medical Center in the presence of her loving family.
Judy was born in Sinks Grove, WV on January 26th, 1942, the daughter of the late Everett and Lena Taylor Dunbar.
She was a graduate of Union High School in 1960, Little French Beauty Academy in Bluefield WV in 1961 and attended Bluefield State College, a member of the Union United Methodist Church at Union. After her education, she operated a beauty salon in Union for 17 years, where she developed numerous friendships with her clientele. Soon after retiring from the beauty salon business, her and her husband Bill opened the first convenience store in the area and later opened an additional convenience store in Pickaway, Judy managed the store in Union for nine years, prior to her retirement in 1992. During this same time, her husband Bill was actively involved in the Beni Kedem Shrine in Charleston WV. Judy traveled many miles and assisted in numerous Shrine activities with her faithful companion.
In her final years, she was retired with her loving husband of 54 years, Billy W. Wickline. Judy was a mother and a homemaker, a pet and animal lover, as well as being a force behind the family endeavors. Judy had many friends who loved her dearly.
Surviving are a son, Brian and wife, Leslie of Union, a grandson, Ty and a granddaughter, Cameron, a brother, Jack and wife, Barbara of Sinks Grove; nephews, George and wife, Lina of Virginia Beach VA, Danny Dunbar and wife Nichole of Union and great nephews George A. Dunbar, Eugene Dunbar and Nicholas Dunbar.
Friends may call at the Groves Funeral Home in Union WV from 6-8 pm, Wednesday, June 7, 2017.
Funeral Services will be held Thursday, June 8th at 2 p.m. at the Groves Funeral Home Chapel in Union with the Rev. Frank Naglic officiating.
Burial will follow at the Green Hill Cemetery in Union.
