Obituary

RICH CREEK, VA ---"And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose", Romans 8:28. John T. "Tom" Frazier, Sr. of Rich creek, VA went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, March 26, 2014 at Bluefield Regional Medical Center. Born February 25, 1930 at Bozoo, WV he was the son of the late Henry Grady and Vivian Hazel Reed Frazier. In 1950 Tom was drafted and served proudly in the US Army having served in the Korean War. He later worked several years for Smith Transfer and was a retired truck driver for Eastern Vault and American Block Company. He was a member of the Bluefield Mercer Masonic Lodge #85 AF&AM and TOPS 216 Group of Princeton, WV. Tom was also an active member of the Riverview Baptist Church in Ripplemead, VA. Tom and his wife Betty served as foster parents to a host of West Virginia and Virginia children, Many of them often called him "Paw Paw" and "Uncle Tommy". In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by an infant son, Timothy Roland Frazier; two sisters, Mary Ann Hill and Brenda Jean Frazier; one brother, Henry "HG" Frazier; and an infant Granddaughter, Heather Dawn Frazier. Survivors include his wife of 63 years, Betty Roland Frazier of Rich creek, VA; four sons, John T. Frazier, Jr and wife Brenda of Bluefield, VA, Jody B. Frazier and Lisa and Timmy of Ada, WV, Jerry W. Frazier and wife Betty of Lashmeet, WV, and Jason Frazier and wife Sara of Ruther Glen, VA; three sisters, Billie Joyce McNeal of Bluefield, WV, Eda Mae Shields and husband Shannon of Bluefield, WV and Linda Jane Hawks of Bristol, TN; one special sister-in-law Macie Roland Veins of Castleberry, FL; two Grandsons, Hogan and Jonathan Frazier; one granddaughter, Laura Ashlei See; and special friends, Mike and Kathy Mabry of Rich creek, VA. Funeral Services will be held 2:00 P.M. Saturday, March 29, 2014 at the Ceres Baptist Church in Bluefield, WV (Green Valley, WV) with Pastor Shawn Wilburn and Pastor James Mooney officiating. Burial will follow in Roselawn Memorial Gardens, Princeton, WV where the Mercer County Veterans Honor Guard will conduct military graveside rites. Friends may call Friday, March 28, 2014 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Ceres Baptist Church. Family and friends will serve as Pallbearers. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the Ceres Baptist Church Food Pantry, 3747 Maple Acres Road Bluefield, WV 24701. Groves Funeral Home in Union, WV is serving the Frazier Family.
