GAP MILLS, WV --- John Harvey Hubbard, age 85, of Gap Mills, WV passed away Wednesday, June 3, 2015 at Peyton Hospice House, Fairlea, WV following a long illness. Born October 31, 1930 at Sweet Springs, WV he was the son of the late Murray A. and Minni Mentz Hubbard. John was a lifelong farmer. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by three sisters, Barbara Peterson, Virginia Belle Carter, and Martha Esther Hubbard.
Survivors include his loving wife Lorene Sharp Hubbard of Gap Mills, WV, one son, Raymond Hubbard and wife Renee of Hinesville, Georgia; two step-sons, Bobby Jones and wife Natalie of Gap Mills, WV and Jerry Jones of Oregon; one daughter, Charlotte Beaur of Salt Lake City, Utah; three sisters, Violet Hope Jones and husband Ronald of Clifton Forge, VA, Una Kelley and husband Ralph of Covington, VA, and Evelyn Grace Collier of Salem, Oregon; two brothers, Murray Arthur Hubbard, Jr. and wife Naomi and Benjamin Hubbard and wife Nancy of Covington, VA; twelve grandchildren and sixteen great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews also survive.
In honoring John's wishes he will be cremated. A memorial service will be held Tuesday, June 9, 2015 from 6:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Crimson Springs Church on the Zenith Road, with Pastor Jim Rogers officiating.
