UNION, WV – John H. Allen, died on July 18, 2021 at his home in Union, WV. He was born on October 20, 1931 in Mullica Hill, New Jersey. He was the son of James and Doris Allen. He was an active member of the community, involved in the Masons, Lions Club, Shriners, Ruritans, and the Monroe County Historical Society. He attended the United Memorial Baptist Church and St. John's Methodist Church. He served in the U.S. Army and achieved the rank of Sergeant.

He was preceded in death by his wives, Mary Allen and Marion E. Allen; his four siblings, Doris Young, James Allen, Gary Allen, and Arthur Allen; and his son, John Allen III. He is survived by his two children, Martha Temple and Geroge Allen, as well as by his six grandchildren, Sara Temple, Lauren Temple, Michael Allen, Cody Allen, Christine Allen, and Susan Allen; and one great-grandchild, Kailynn.

He enjoyed his daily walks around Union and his zinnia garden. There will be no services scheduled for John. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorial contributions be made to the Monroe Lodge #77, P.O. Box 863 Union, WV 24983.
