UNION, WV --- Joe R. Mann Jr, 65 of Union, who everyone knew and loved as Bob passed away peacefully at his home surrounded by his family on March 15th 2023 following a long illness.

He was born the son of the late Joe R. and Betty Joe Nelson Mann both of Talcott. He graduated from Talcott high school in 1976 and had a successful 30-year career with the defense contract management agency.

Bob had many accomplishments in the state of West Virginia with Freemasonry and Shriners.

He was a Member and Past Master of Monroe Lodge number 77 Ancient Free and Accepted Masons in Union WV.

Past High Priest of Beverly number 23 and member of Ronceverte number 21 Grand Chapter Royal Arch Masons

Past Commander of Greenbrier #42 Knights Templar.

Member of Knights of York Cross of Honor, WV prioxy no. 40.

Member of Scottish Rite of Freemasonry. Valley of Charleston. Orient of WV

Present First Ceremonial master of the Beni Kedem Divan, Charleston WV.

Long serving secretary of Monroe County Shrine Club.

Past President of Greenbrier Valley Shrine Club

Charter Member Eight Rivers Shrine Club of Marlinton WV.

Member, Royal Court of Jesters. Court 111 Charleston WV.

Preceded in death by his wife of fourty four years Kathy Ellard Mann, his parents and a sister Debbie Bower of Talcott.

Survived by: His sons. Michael of Beckley WV and Matthew (Putter) of Ghent WV.

Sisters-Cathy and husband Charley Mirable, Mona and husband John Eskew, Jenny and husband Todd Massey. Brother in law Eddie Bower, Two adorable nieces Lindsey and Lauren. Mother in law Kitty Ellard, special friend Colleen Holliday and fishing buddy Michael Macmullian.

Funeral services will be held 3:00 p.m. Sunday, March 19, 2023 at the Groves-Mann Funeral Home Chapel with Terry Utterback presiding. Immediately followed by graveside masonic rites being performed by Monroe Lodge 77. The Family will receive friends Sunday, March 19, 2023 from 1:00 p.m. until time of the service at the funeral home.
