UNION, WV – Joan Perkins, age 79, of Union went to be with the Lord on August 3, 2025.  She was born in Union on February 23, 1946, to Robert and Mary Wilson.  She was a kind, loving woman who adored her family, friends, and animals.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Mary Wilson, brother Benny Wilson, mother and father-in-law Frank and Hazel Perkins, and nephew Clark Perkins Jr.

She is survived by her loving husband Lloyd Perkins of Union.  Her daughter Dawn Bowler and husband John of Christiansburg, VA.  Her grandson Justin Bowler of Christiansburg, VA.  Her granddaughter Casey Eanes and husband Travis, and her great-granddaughter Harper of Dublin, VA.

Her sister-in-law Kathleen Wilson of Union.  Her brother Melvin Wilson and wife Gloria of Peterstown.  Her sister Marie Maynard and husband Bob of Beckly.  Her brother Fredy Wilson and wife Betty of Greenville.  Her brother Bobby Wilson and wife Debbie of Union.

Her nephews Mike Wilson and wife Jackye, Mark Wilson and wife Jill, and Steve Wilson.  Her nephew Rob Wilson and niece Sheila Larson and husband Chris.  Her nieces Julie Ellison and Tammy Poore and husband Jeff.  Her nieces Crystal Pell and husband Pat and Carrie Boggess and husband Scott.  Her nephew David Wilson and wife Renee and niece Megan Jackson and husband Jermone.

She was loved by brother-in-law Clark Perkins and wife Linda of Hinton.  Her sister-in-law Paulette Wall of Greensboro, NC, and her brother-in-law Gary Perkins and wife Patricia of Frankfort.  Nephews Andrew, William, and Charles Perkins.  Niece Lisa Ann Wall, and nephews Sean and Jason Perkins.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday August 6, 2025, from 1:00pm-2:00pm at Groves-Mann Funeral Home in Union, WV.  The funeral service will follow at 2:00pm with Pastor Nathan Miller officiating. Burial will follow at the Green Hill Cemetery in Union, WV.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in Joan's name to the Monroe County Animal League (PO Box 343, Union, WV 24983).
