Obituary

LINDSIDE, WV --- Jesse Lewis Honaker, age 81, of Lindside, WV, passed away Saturday, October 9, 2021 at his residence. Born November 8, 1939 in Greenbrier County, WV, he was the son of the late Verdie and Elva Morgan Honaker. Jesse was a talented and hard worker all his life. He was a carpenter and painter by trade. He had worked for several years as a painter at the Greenbrier Hotel in White Sulphur Springs, WV. Jesse served in the West Virginia National Guard. He attended Tennessee Temple in Chattanooga, TN and became a Pastor. He built and started the Woodland Street Baptist Church in Narrows, VA. He continued his ministry from 1974 to 1980. Jesse's family was his legacy. He loved them all dearly and had a special love for his children. He was an avid hunter, fisherman, and all-around outdoorsman. He loved the Lord and was a member of the Mt. Prospect Baptist Church in Union, WV.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one daughter, Melanie Honaker Miller; three brothers, Jimmy, Joe, and Jack Honaker; and one sister, Lena Hitchcock. Survivors include his loving wife of 22 years, June Frazier Honaker of Lindside, WV; two sons, Phillip Honaker of Lindside, WV, and Carl Honaker and wife Jennifer of Pearisburg, VA; one daughter, Amanda Honaker of Lindside, WV; two step-sons, James Wagner and wife Courtney of Pulaski, VA, and Erin Wagner and companion Carrie of Peterstown, WV; two brothers, Jerry Honaker and wife Letha of Ronceverte, WV, and Judson Honaker of Ronceverte, WV; one sister, Freda Deskins of Second Creek, WV; three sister-in-laws, Wilda Honaker of Ronceverte, WV, Sally French and husband Richard of Rich Creek, VA, and Beatrice Frazier of Pearisburg, VA; four brother-in-laws, Earl Frazier and wife Kathy of Bozzo, WV, Scott Frazier and wife Katrina of Peterstown, WV, Dana Frazier and wife Mary of Lindside, WV, and Eric Frazier and wife Millie of Lindside, WV; former spouse and friend, Drucella Feamster of Lindside, WV; six grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, and family whom he loved and enjoyed talking with on the phone.

Funeral services will be held 1:00 p.m. Thursday, October 14, 2021 at the Groves-Mann Funeral Home Chapel in Union, WV with Pastor Todd Baker and Pastor David Deskins officiating. Burial will follow in Honaker Cemetery at Ronceverte, WV. The family will receive friends Thursday, October 14, 2021 from 12:00 noon until time of the service at the funeral home. Nephews will serve as Pallbearers.
