LEWISBURG, WV --- Jerry Lee Lester, 62 of Lewisburg, WV passed away Saturday, July 22, 2017 at the Greenbrier Valley Medical Center in Fairlea following a short illness.
He was born at Man, WV September 13, 1954 a son of the late Sherman and Arminta Bartram Lester.
He was a disabled coal miner and a member of the UMWA.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by 3 brothers, Larry, Timmy and David Lester; a sister, Marcella Gail Lester.
Surviving is his companion, Tammy Persinger; a daughter, Beth Prater and Bill of Newtown, a son, Jerry Wayne Lester of Gilbert; a step daughter, Seda Lafon and Britt of Caldwell; 7 grandchildren, Carly Prater, Destiny Lester, Shana Runyon, E. J. Runyon, Haley Lester, Andrew and Emily Lafon; 2 great grandchildren, Kensley Lester and Raelynn Hunt; 2 brothers, Leon Lester of Gilbert, Terry Lester and Debbie of Peterstown; 3 sisters, Deborah Lewis and Kibby of Clay County, Eleanor Salmons and Junior of Greenville, Tina Goodman and Eugene of Gilbert. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral Services will be held 2 pm. Thursday, July 27, 2017 at the Groves Funeral Home Chapel at Union with Pastor Rick Duncan officiating. Burial will follow in the New Lebanon Cemetery at Pickaway.
