SINKS GROVE, WV --- Jerry Anderson Boggs, age 77, of Sinks Grove, WV, passed away Tuesday, October 5, 2021 at the Peyton Hospice House in Fairlea, WV. Born December 15, 1943 in Monroe County, WV, he was the son of the late Virgil Anderson and Mary Lucas Boggs. Jerry was a hard worker all of his life. He was a simple man, who loved God, and always put him first in his life. Going to church and going to work never got old for Jerry. He also had a great love for his Country, and he proudly served in the U.S. Army. Jerry was the President of J.A. Boggs Trucking, Inc. He also worked in land excavating as well. Jerry loved his family and enjoyed spending time with them, especially his grandchildren, whom he very proud of. Jerry was a member of the Hillsdale Holiness Church where he served as Sunday School Superintendent for many years. He was a pillar of the community and will be missed by many.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one sister, Carol Elmore. Survivors include his loving wife of 55 years, Glenda Dalton Boggs of Sinks Grove, WV; one son, Travis Boggs and wife Virginia of Lillydale, WV; one daughter, Kimberly Jones and husband Jeff of Gap Mills, WV; two brothers, Ricky Boggs and wife Diane of Union, WV, and Roger Boggs and wife Valerie of Sinks Grove, WV; two sisters, Bonnie Elmore and husband Dale of Pickaway, WV, and Judy Toothman and husband Ricky of Ronceverte, WV; one brother-in-law, Richard Elmore of Ronceverte, WV; four grandchildren, Dalton Boggs of Princeton, WV, Jolie Hatfield and husband Caleb of Union, WV, Lauren Wykle and Tyler Wykle both of Gap Mills, WV; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins also survive.

Funeral services will be held 1:00 p.m. Saturday, October 9, 2021 at the Groves-Mann Funeral Home Chapel in Union, WV with Pastor David Deskins and Benny Reed officiating. Burial will follow in New Lebanon Cemetery at Pickaway, WV where the WV Honor Guard will conduct Military Graveside Rites. The family will receive friends Friday, October 8, 2021 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
