UNION, WV — Janettea May McPeak, age 81, of Union, WV went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, June 27th following an extended illness. Born October 9th, 1941 at Salt Sulphur Springs, WV, she was the daughter of the late James (Ted) and Eula (Caldwell)Brown. Janettea was a 1960 graduate of Union High School. She married the love of her life, Cody D. McPeak on July 17th, 1960 and spent the next 62 years of marriage as a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She served her community for more than 30 years as a cook for Monroe County Schools until her retirement. Janettea was a longstanding member of St. Johns United Methodist Church at Salt Sulphur, WV. She loved the life God provided and was dedicated to capturing those moments through her lens. She never left the house without her camera and took pride in sharing pictures with family and friends.

In addition to her husband, those left to cherish Janettea's memory include two daughters, Jannie (Susie) Riffe of Lindside, WV and Melinda (Linnie) Fullen of Union, WV; three siblings, Marvin (wife Margaret Ann) Brown of Charleston, SC, Marlene (June) Brown Downey of Union, WV, and Jerry (wife Sharon)Brown also of Union, WV; six grandchildren, Ashley (husband Jon) Williams, Hannah (husband Justin) Roberts, Amanda (fiancé Keith) Mann, JD (wife Sonya) Fullen, Savannah Fullen, Alisha (husband Jamie) Cobb; twelve great-grandchildren, Jakob, Katelin, Kyra, Emily, Luke, Preston, Kya, Kyler, Ethyn, Joel, Jalen, and Ava; many cherished nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held 11:00 am Saturday, July 1, 2023 at the Groves-Mann Funeral Home Chapel in Union, WV with Pastor Carl Mouser officiating. Burial will follow in St. John Methodist Church Cemetery in Salt Sulphur. The family will receive friends Friday, June 30, 2023 from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm at the funeral home.
