PICKAWAY, WV --- Jane Elizabeth Mann (VanderVeen), age 66 of Pickaway, WV, passed away December 30, 2023, in her home surrounded by family after a short illness. Born March 24, 1957, in Grand Rapids, MI, she was the daughter of the late Donald and Eileen VanderVeen. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband Ralph "Skipper" Mann.
As an avid beach bum, Jane's favorite place in the world was her cottage on Lake Michigan. She spent all her summers there with family and friends. Jane delighted in hosting joyful gatherings, and she soaked in the quiet beauty of every sunset.

Five Great-GrandChildren: Levi and Clara Mann, August Mann, and Odin and Alder Beecroft. One sister, Judith VanderVeen, and one brother, Michael (Gayle) VanderVeen, a niece Gina (Jimmy) VanderVeen, and nephew Nicholas (Meg) VanderVeen. Her sister-in-law Margaret Mann Thiessen and her husband Paul of Eltville, Germany.
She is also survived by her lifelong friends: Pat Higgins of Dorr, MI, Beth Cable of Grand Rapids, MI, Karen Mincarelli of Lancaster, PA, Nancy Boshoven of Grand Rapids MI, Ann Ellis of Kalamazoo, MI, and Sherron Pagliotti of Santa Barbara, CA.
In keeping with Jane's wishes, she will be cremated and buried alongside her husband at Port Sheldon Cemetery in West Olive, MI. A small service will be held at that time with further details to follow. Also, given Jane's dedication to the beach and in honor of the care she received, donations may be sent to either the Alliance for the Great Lakes (https://greatlakes.org/) or Peyton Hospice House (https://www.hospicecarewv.org/locations/peyton-hospice-house/) in lieu of flowers or gifts.
