SARTON, WV --- James "J.P." Philmore Parker, age 86, of Sarton, WV passed away Monday, November 2, 2020 at the Greenbrier Valley Medical Center in Fairlea, WV. Born May 15, 1934 at Ronceverte, WV, he was the son of the late Dewey E. and Lena Kershner Parker. J.P. was a U.S. Army Veteran. He owned and operated Jim's Upholstery Shop. He was an avid NASCAR and Richard Petty fan. J.P. was a member of the Mt. Alexander Church at Sarton, WV.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Irene Williams Parker; one brother, Randolph Parker; and two sisters, Sue Nichols and Lois Weikle. Survivors include one step-daughter, Renda Brown of Greensboro, NC; four brothers, Bob Parker and wife Glenda, Elwood Parker and wife Bonnie, George Parker and wife Donna, and Jackie Parker and wife Judy; one sister, Erma McDonald; two step-grandchildren, Timmy and Carla; J.P. also had several friends that were very dear to him at the Brier Nursing Home as well.

Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. Sunday, November 8, 2020 at the Mt. Alexander Church at Sarton with Pastor Terry Utterback officiating. Burial will follow in the Mt. Alexander Church Cemetery at Sarton, WV. The Family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. until time of services at the Church. Friends of the family will serve as Pallbearers.
