KINSTON, NC ---James Edward "Jim" Kountz, 74, passed away at UNC Lenoir Health Care in  Kinston, NC on Tuesday, February 12, 2019.  He is the son of the late Robert and  Margaret Kountz.  He is also preceded in death by his sister Claudette Conn (and  her husband Marvin).    Jim was a resident of the North Carolina State Veterans Home in Kinston, NC and  served in the U.S. Navy.  Born in Baltimore, MD, he was a crane operator at  Bethlehem Steel for many years.  He loved motorcycles, music, sports, animals  and having a good time.  Jim will be greatly missed but he is now at peace with  the Lord.    Jim is survived by his daughters Cindy Baldwin (and her husband Ken) and Susan  Delaney (and her husband Dale, Jr.); grandchildren Amber Slack (and her husband  Gregory), Rachael Lovick (and her husband Joshua), Dale Delaney III (and his wife  Morgan), Erika Scarce (and her husband Christopher), Jenny Delaney and Kyle  Baldwin; 7 great grandchildren; brothers Leonard Kountz (and his wife Bernitta)  and Jerry Kountz (and his wife Sally); and many nieces and nephews.    A graveside service will be held on Friday, February 22, 2019 at 11:00 AM at  Mount Hedding Methodist Church Cemetery in Lillydale, WV.
