James Edgar "Eddie" Dunbar Jr., 67, of Union, West Virginia, passed away peacefully on June 30, 2026.
Born on October 2, 1958, in Ronceverte, West Virginia, Eddie was the son of the late James Edgar Dunbar Sr. and Almina Vass Dunbar.
Eddie will be remembered for his love of telling stories about the "good old days," bringing smiles and laughter to everyone who listened. He was an avid hunter, always on the lookout for the next big buck.
He dedicated many years of hard work to Mullican Flooring in Ronceverte, where he served as a supervisor before retiring. His coworkers respected Eddie for his strong work ethic and leadership. He had a wonderful sense of humor and enjoyed playing tricks on his coworkers from time to time, making work a little more fun and leaving many with memories they will cherish.
In addition to his parents, Eddie was preceded in death by his grandparents, Kenna and Nellie Vass, and Mr. and Mrs. E.A. Dunbar, including his aunts, Annamay Weikle (Jim), Carol Winebrimmer (Alvin), Cleo Winebrimmer (Roy), and his uncle, Tom Dunbar (Velma)
He is survived by his loving family, including his aunts, Ellen Kilianeak and Frances Bostic (Ed); and several cousins, extended family members, and friends who will miss him dearly.
A memorial service to celebrate Eddie's life will be held at Highland Park Church on Sunday at 1:30 p.m. Family and friends are invited to attend as they gather to honor and remember him. Highland Park Road, Second Creek, WV 24976. Following cremation, Eddie will be laid to rest at New Lebanon Cemetery alongside his parents at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully requests that memorial donations be made to help with funeral expenses. Any contribution, no matter the size, will be deeply appreciated during this difficult time.
Eddie's stories, kindness, love of hunting, and the memories he created with family and friends will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew and loved him. He will be greatly missed but never forgotten.
