PICKAWAY, WV – James Michael Bennett passed away peacefully on January 23, 2025, at the age of 66. He was the son of Arthur and the late Phyllis Hinkle Baker of Pickaway.

Jim was a man of many passions, but his devotion to farming and his love for the outdoors defined much of his life. He was a life-long farmer dedicated to raising livestock and will be deeply missed by his farming community. Jim was an avid hunter and skilled houndsman, impressing his wisdom onto his children and grandchildren. He cherished his annual trips out west where he created a legacy that will be forever instilled in the lives that he touched and the traditions he inspired.

Survivors include his wife, Linda of Pickaway; two sons, David Bennett (Stacie) of Sinks Grove, and Alan Bennett (Amy) of Arboles, CO; grandsons, Tyler, Austin (Jasmine), Nolan, Wyatt, Sylus, and Easton; one granddaughter, BreAnna; great-grandson, Aaron; great-granddaughter, RaeLynn; stepfather, Art Baker of Pickaway; brother, Richard Bennett (Tina) of Pickaway; and sister, Susan Sheridan (Wes) of Waiteville.

Graveside services will be held at 2:00PM on Sunday, January 26, 2025, at the Greenbrier Memorial Gardens in Lewisburg, WV, with Pastor Gene Fullen and Freddie Bostic officiating. Initial remembrance will be held in the mausoleum, followed by final committal at the gravesite.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Hospice (1265 Maplewood Avenue, Lewisburg, WV 24901).
