PICKAWAY, WV – James Dale Beckett, age 84, passed away on Tuesday, January 6, 2026, at the Lewis Gale Medical Center in Salem, VA. Born May 30, 1941, in Pickaway, WV, he was the son of the late James and Maxine Christie Beckett. Dale was a dedicated farmer who loved working on the farm and taking care of all animals. He loved his family, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was a beloved father, grandfather, great grandfather, and friend who will be missed by all who knew him.

In addition to his parents, Dale was preceded in death by his wife, Carol McClung Beckett; brother, Lloyd Beckett; and niece, Brooke Webb Smith.

Those left to cherish his memory include his son, Jeff Beckett and wife Melinda; daughter, Jacque Jones and husband Kyle; grandson, Josh Beckett and wife Hannah; granddaughter, Sarah Jones Grimm and husband Jack; his great grandchildren, Brayden and Saylor Beckett; sister, Nancy Webb; nephew, Chad Beckett; niece, Kristin Beckett; and several extended family members.

Memorial service will be held at 3:00PM on Saturday, January 10, 2026, at the Groves-Mann Funeral Home in Union, WV, with Pastor Mike Smith officiating. Visitation will be held from 1:00PM until time of services on Saturday at the funeral home.
