JACKSONVILLE, FL --- Helen "Emogene" Allen, age 88, of Jacksonville, FL, formerly of Union, WV, passed away Thursday, February 3, 2022 at Ascension St. Vincent's Southside Hospital in Jacksonville, FL. Born July 18, 1933 at Lillydale, WV, she was the daughter of the late Samuel and Harriet Evans Smith. Emogene worked several years at the B.F. Goodrich plant in Pickaway, WV. She was also a seamstress and had worked at the sewing factory in New Castle, VA. She enjoyed singing beautiful songs, and she attended the Mt. Hedding United Methodist Church at Lillydale, WV. She loved her family dearly, and she was very proud of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Benton "Gill" Allen; three brothers, Charles Shirley Smith, Robert "JR" Smith, and Ralph Smith; five sisters, Betty Jo O'Brien, Irene McPeak, Polly Greskivich, Claribel Roles, and Martha Ellis; and one grandson, Aaron Boggs. Survivors include, four sons, Larry Weikle and Rosetta Sneddon of Pickaway, WV, Ralph Weikle and wife Tina of Sinks Grove, WV, Rocky Allen of Union, WV, and Jim Allen and wife Jennifer of Jacksonville, FL; one brother, Steve Smith and wife Beverly; thirteen grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral services will be held 1:00 p.m. Saturday, February 19, 2022 at the Groves-Mann Funeral Home Chapel in Union, WV with Pastor Gene Fullen officiating. Burial will follow in Green Hill Cemetery, Union, WV. The family will receive friends Saturday, February 19, 2022 from 12:00 noon until the time of service at the funeral home.
