ZENITH, WV --- Hazel Marie Dunbar Shrader Richards, age 83, of Zenith, WV, went home to be with the Lord on April 22, 2023 at her home with her daughter, Kathy in Zenith, WV, following a short illness. Born June 24, 1939 in Gap Mills, WV, she was the daughter of the late O'zella Edna Bostic Dunbar Fisher and Robert Clark Dunbar. Hazel was a homemaker and mother to three girls. She loved her children and grandchildren. She also had a love for animals and always had dogs, cats, and in her younger years, had birds, chickens, horses, and other farm animals. Hazel was a Christian and loved good preaching and gospel music. She loved the Lord and kept her faith until her last breath.

In addition to her parents and step-father, Ralph Fisher, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Leslie Shrader; two brothers, Russell Dunbar and wife Dawn, and Marshall Dunbar and wife Joan; a sister, Shirley Fisher and husband Frank; a daughter, Dawn Shrader Overstreet; three grandchildren, Alisha (Sha) Overstreet, Jacob and Rachel McMahan; and two sons-in-law, John Sheppard and Dean Deskins.

Those left to cherish her memory are her two daughters, Kathy McMahan and husband, Dalford of Zenith, WV, and Bonnie Deskins of Alderson, WV; son-in-law, Ken Overstreet; six grandchildren, Angie Braden, Jeremy and Jason Overstreet, Sheena and Grace Sheppard, and Kimberly Sullivan; eight great-grandchildren, Tessa Vance, Kiesha Morgan, Sebastian Cornett, Charisma and Gabriel Overstreet, Aryianna Adkins, Benjamin Graham, and Jonathon Sheppard; two great-great-grandchildren, and one on the way, Arizona, Niveah, and Aliyah; several nieces, nephews, and cousins; a special sister/friend, Sara Ellison, two long time friends, Marie Erskine and Iona Davis; Roy Richards; and her beloved Toy Poodle, Cricket.

In keeping with her wishes, graveside services will be held 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, April 26, 2023 at the Wickline Cemetery at Zenith, WV with Rev. Everette "Hat" Defibaugh officiating.
