GAP MILLS, WV --- Harry Woodson Helms, age 90, of Gap Mills, WV passed away Tuesday, December 6, 2022 at his residence. Born February 2, 1932 in Union, WV, he was the son of the late William and Athelene Wickline Helms. Harry had worked as a nurse's aide and also in the maintenance department at the Andrew S. Rowan Home in Sweet Springs, WV. He was a lifelong farmer and he enjoyed woodworking and being outdoors. In his younger years, he was an avid hunter as well. Harry loved the Lord and was a member of the Crimson Springs Church at Zenith.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Veva Helms; one son, Steve Helms; one grandson, Tom Ketola; one brother, Billy Helms; one sister, Irene Brown; Survivors include, one son, Rick Helms of Gap Mills, WV; three daughters, Debbie LaFuze and husband Mike of Indiana, Betty Ketola and husband Jim of Michigan, and Kathy Helms and friend Billy Joe Kirk of Gap Mills, WV; daughter-in-law, Cathy Helms; grandchildren, Greg Ketola, Erik LaFuze, and Ronnie Helms; great-grandchildren, Emily and Brenden Katola, Gwynn and Genna Ketola, and Kelsey LaFuze; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins also survive.

Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. Friday, December 9, 2022 at the Crimson Springs Church in Zenith, WV, with Pastor Jim Rogers and Pastor Bob Bradley officiating. Burial will follow in Valley View Cemetery across from the church. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church. BJ Capaldo, Johnny Kanode, Ronnie Porterfield, Mike Wickline, Danny Huffman, and Rodger Bostic will serve as Pallbearers.
