Obituary

UNION, WV --- Golden Lee Vance, age 52, of Union, WV, passed away Monday, April 19, 2021 at Charleston Area Medical Center in Charleston, WV. Born February 22, 1969 in Union, WV, he was the son of the late Grover and Betty Hall Vance. Golden was a truck driver for several years in the trucking industry. He loved mechanical work and working in his garage. He collected many things and was a hoarder of many treasures. He had a love for classic cars and lifted trucks. He was an avid hunter and fisherman. He also enjoyed being in the great outdoors, traveling, and going camping every chance he got. Golden was always there to lend a hand and help out people however he could. He was a member of the Gap Mills Community Center where he would help out with the motorsport events they would have there for the community. Golden loved his family and friends dearly and he knew they loved him very much as well.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his brothers, Ronnie Vance, Jack Bostic, Ronnie Bostic; his sister, Gloria Humphreys; his aunt Ruby Charlton. Survivors include his loving wife, Theresa Vance of Union, WV; two sons, Chris Vance and wife Shannon of Ronceverte, WV, and Dusten Vance and girlfriend, Gracie Morgan of Union, WV; one daughter, Samantha Vance and boyfriend, James Reed of Lindside, WV; one brother, Grover W. Vance, Jr. and wife Becky of Sinks Grove, WV; one sister, Donna Perkins and husband Jeff of White Sulphur Springs, WV; one granddaughter, Sadie Rose Vance who was Paw Paw's "Chicken Nugget"; special niece and who Golden thought of like a daughter, Susan Lane "MeMe" and boyfriend, Logan Crookshank of Lindside, WV; niece and nephew, Angel Vance and boyfriend, DJ Harmon of Sinks Grove, WV and Clayton Vance and wife Alisha of Union, WV; brother-in-law, David Lane and wife Dana of Lindside, WV; special friends, Jimmy Bennett and wife Jennifer of Peterstown, WV, and George Boggess II and wife Debbie of Florida; and several other nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, cousins and friends also survive.

Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. Sunday, April 25, 2021 at the Groves-Mann Funeral Home Chapel in Union, WV with Freddie Bostic officiating. Burial will follow in Highland Park Cemetery at Highland Park, WV. The Family will receive friends Sunday, April 25, 2021 from 1:00 p.m. until time of services at the funeral home. Chris Vance, Clayton Vance, Zach Vance, David Lane, Dusten Vance, Brent Romanello, Nathan Sablack, and Jimmy Bennett will serve as Pallbearers. Josh Burns, Ryan Payne, David Sims, DJ Harmon, and Bryce Vance will serve as Honorary Pallbearers. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic regulations those attending the services are asked to social distance and wear a mask. The Family suggests memorial donations be made to the Groves-Mann Funeral Home P.O.
