UNION --- Geraldine Mae Weikle Pence, 81, of Union passed away Wednesday evening, November 30, 2016 at the Springfield Center following a long illness.
She was born May 9, 1935 at Sarton, WV she was the daughter of the late John and Ethel Morgan Weikle.
In addition to her parents she preceded in death by her husband Laird Wilson Pence on August 15, 2003, two brothers, Paul Harmon and John Weikle, Jr.; three sisters, Susan Crawford and Nellie Kountz and Millicent Kountz.
She was a retired employee of the B. F. Goodrich with 27 years service a member of the Mt. Alexander United Methodist Church and the United Methodist Women's Circle, she also loved sewing, quilting and gardening.
Surviving are 3 daughters, Ethel Johnston; Donna McHone and her husband, William; Lisa Furrow and her husband James all of Sarton; one son, Franklin Pence and his wife, Tammy of Sarton; three sisters, Diane Huggins of Kenna, WV, Mary Ralston and husband Bob of Ronceverte, WV, and Violet Allen of Union, WV; three brothers, Donald Weikle of Flat Mountain, WV, Ralph Weikle and wife Wilma of Alderson, WV, and Basil Weikle and wife Bobbie of Talcott, WV; 9 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandaughter.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM. Sunday, December 4, 2016 at the Mt. Alexander United Methodist Church at Sarton with the Rev. Terry Utterback officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Friends may call at the Groves Funeral Home in Union from 6 – 8 PM. Saturday, December 3, 2016 and at the church one hour prior to the services.
