Obituary

UNION, WV --- George A. Grubb, 90, of Union, WV, passed away Sunday evening, December 11, 2016 at Peyton Hospice House in Fairlea, WV following a long illness.
He was born at Herndon, WV, April 7, 1926 a son of the late Jesse Fairbanks and Druzella Mae Ford Grubb.
Mr. Grubb started his working career at a young age as a coal miner, after serving in the U. S. Army he returned to coal mining, he then went into logging for about 25 years. Afterwards he worked as an auto mechanic for several years. He was a veteran of the U. S. Army having served during World War II in the Asiatic Pacific Theater.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Ina Marie Hall Grubb on February 17, 2013 along with 3 sisters, Audrey Marie Wilson, Cleo Frances Wilson and Judy Carol Miller.
Surviving are 2 sons, George A. Grubb, Jr. and wife, Alma of Union and Jackie Lee Grubb and wife, Carol of Quinwood; 3 grandchildren, Lora Ann Denny and companion, B. J. Harper, Lisa Renee Burgess and husband, Cody, Jason Lee Grubb and fiancé, Samantha "Sam" Cox; 5 great grandchildren, Logan and Matthew Denny, Charles and Savannah Harper and Axton Grubb; a sister, Donna Jean Miller of Union and a brother, Jesse Ray Grubb and wife, Karen of Akron, Ohio; several nieces, nephews and cousins also survive.
Funeral Services will be held 1:00 pm. Thursday, December 15, 2016 at the Groves Funeral Home Chapel in Union with Rev. Otuce Huffman officiating. Burial will follow in the Green Hill Cemetery at Union, with Military Graveside Rites conducted by the James Monroe High School Junior ROTC.
Friends may call at the Groves Funeral Home in Union from 12 noon until service time Thursday.
Pallbearers will be Kevin, Richard and Richie Miller, Cody Burgess, Bobby and Greg Weikle.
