SINKS GROVE, WV --- Frances Edna Carter Deskins, age 89, of Sinks Grove, WV, passed away Sunday, September 12, 2021 at Summers County ARH in Hinton, WV. Born February 15, 1932 in Dublin, VA, she was the daughter of the late William Otis and Pauline Masters Carter. Frances worked for 18 years at the B.F. Goodrich Plant in Pickaway, WV, and she was a loving and caring homemaker as well. She loved her family dearly. She always enjoyed spending time with them all, especially her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren. Each one brought her so much happiness and joy. Frances also loved her flowers and all their beauty in and around her home. She loved the Lord and was a member of the Mt. Pleasant Independent Baptist Church for the past 11 years.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James Ray Deskins, Sr.; and five brothers, Thomas, William, Jr., Charles, George, and Joe Carter. Survivors include, four sons, James Ray Deskins, Jr., and wife JoAnn of Sinks Grove, WV, Dean Harvey Deskins and wife Bonnie of Alderson, WV; Stephen Duane Deskins and wife Andrea of Williamsburg, WV, and Chris Allen Deskins and wife Laura of Maxwelton, WV; two daughters, Faye Pace of Fairlea, WV, and Phyllis Jean Garcia and husband Mike of Talcott, WV; fifteen grandchildren, one step-grandson; twenty five great-grandchildren; eleven great-great grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews, and  cousins also survive.

Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. Saturday, September 18, 2021 at the Groves-Mann Funeral Home Chapel in Union, WV with Pastor David Deskins officiating. Burial will follow in New Lebanon Cemetery at Pickaway, WV. The family will receive friends Saturday, September 18, 2021 from 12:00 noon until time of the service at the funeral home. Sonny Deskins, Mikie Deskins, Hunter Ray Deskins, Andrew Carter Deskins, Keith Clendenen, Michael Garcia, and Jospeh Tyler Garcia will serve as Pallbearers.
