LEWISBURG, WV --- Exa Wainetta Hardee, age 85, of Lewisburg, WV, formerly of Gap Mills, WV, passed away Sunday, December 27, 2020 at Bath Community Hospital in Hot Springs, VA, following a short illness. Born August 7, 1935 in Pocahontas County, WV, she was the daughter of the late Norman "Earl" and Gretta Underwood Kellison. Exa was a retired bookkeeper. She had worked in bookkeeping in many aspects of the medical field. She was an avid bowler and reader. She even kept the books for their bowling league for over 20 years. She also enjoyed playing golf with her husband and tending to her plants, especially her beautiful orchids.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, Paul Hardee; 2 sons, Randy and Stephen Hardee; a granddaughter, Ashley Hardee; a great granddaughter, Skyler Hardee; a son-in-law, Windell Shull; one brother, and David Kellison. Surviving are three children, Barry Lee Hardee of Lewisburg, WV, Donna Lynn Hardee of Sweet Springs, WV Brenda Gose and her husband, Marvin of Fredericksburg, VA.; one sister, Judy Paap of Manassas, VA; two brothers, Daniel Kellison and wife Dorothy of Oregon, and Walter Kellison of Ohio; grandchildren, Christopher and Sean Gose, Katelyn Crislip and husband, Jesse, Nichole Steffey and husband Josh, and Robert Hardee; great grandchildren, Bryce (Hardee) Dunbar, Cameron, Holden and Kainon Crislip and Alayna Gose; special cousin, Sharon Carpenter of North Carolina; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held 6:00 p.m. Thursday, December 31, 2020 at the Groves-Mann Funeral Home Chapel in Union, WV with Rev. Joe Hendricks officiating. The Family will receive friends Thursday, December 31, 2020 from 5:00 p.m. until time of services at the funeral home. Following the visitation and funeral, she will be cremated, and a graveside service will be held at a later date. Due to the regulations associated with the COVID-19 pandemic, those planning on at attending the services are recommended to social distance and wear a mask.
