Obituary

UNION, WV --- Enace Ratliff Martin, age 91, of Union, WV passed away Sunday, August 9, 2020 at CAMC Memorial in Charleston, WV. Born February 17, 1929 in Monroe County, WV she was the daughter of the late Charles C. and Macy Taylor Ratliff. Enace was a loving and caring homemaker who always put her family's needs first. She cared for and helped raise several kids during her lifetime. She always made sure everyone was well fed and taken care of. Everyone who visited her home was treated just like family. She also enjoyed tending to her garden and working with her embroidery. She was a member of the St. John's United Methodist Church in Union, WV.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her first husband, Ira E. Martin; her second husband, Roy Martin; one son, Charles Ervin Martin; grandson, Michael Legendre; great-grandson, Lawrence "Catfish" Taylor; two great-great grandchildren, Lakoda Taylor and Antonio Quick; four brothers, Jack, Harold, Marcus, and James Clyde; three son-in-laws, Jackie Wilson, Gary Kreiger, and Lawrence Taylor. Survivors include, three sons, Danny Joe Martin of Salt Sulphur, WV, Ira Dale "Icky" Martin, (who was a dedicated caregiver to his mom) of Salt Sulphur, WV, and James Martin and Fiancé, Tammy Jo of Union, WV; five daughters, Ruth Taylor of Clinton, IL, Judy Parker and husband Jack of Pickaway, WV, Sue Wilson of White Sulphur Springs, WV, Kathy Kreiger of Sam Black, WV, and Tammy Pitzer and husband Herman of Frankford, WV; one brother, Robert "Bob" Ratliff of Independence, OH; twenty-two grandchildren; forty-five great-grandchildren; and twenty-four great-great grandchildren; several nieces, nephews, and cousins also survive.

Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. Friday, August 14, 2020 at the Groves-Mann Funeral Home Chapel in Union, WV with Pastor Gary Devart officiating. Burial will follow in the Mount Pleasant Baptist Church Cemetery up Knobs Road. Grandsons will serve as Pallbearers. The Family will receive friends 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Thursday, August 13, 2020 at the funeral home. Due to the regulations associated with the COVID-19 pandemic, those attending the visitation and funeral service are strongly encouraged to wear a mask and practice social distancing.
