UNION, WV – Elsie Mae Humphreys, age 102, passed away on Tuesday, May 5, 2026, at the Seneca Trail Healthcare Center in Lewisburg, WV. Born May 1, 1924, in Tazewell, VA, she was the daughter of the late John and Isabell Smith Rane. Eslie was a homemaker and an excellent cook. She enjoyed sewing and made a lot of quilts. She also enjoyed gardening and flowers. She was a beloved mother, grandmother, and great grandmother.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James Robert Humphreys Sr.; four brothers, James, Henry, Frank, and Clyde; and two sisters, Alice and Ruth. Survivors include two sons, Johnny Humphreys and wife Diana of Gap Mills, WV, and Bob Humphreys and wife Brenda of Sinks Grove, WV; four grandchildren, John Michael Humphreys, Eric Humphreys, Brian Scott Humphreys, and Sharon Boggs and husband Kevin; and two great grandchildren, Breanna Hunter and husband Landon and Owen Boggs.

Graveside services will be held at 11:00AM on Saturday, May 9, 2026, at the Carmel Cemetery in Gap Mills, WV, with Pastor Mike Smith officiating.
