GAP MILLS, WV --- Ella Mae Kirk Ripley age 83, of Gap Mills, WV. gained her heavenly wings on Sunday, Oct. 1, 2017 at Peyton Hospice House in Fairlea, WV surrounded by family.
Ella was born at Zenith, WV on Aug 1, 1934 daughter of the late Herman and Lucy Humphreys Kirk. Ella had been previously employed at The Greenbrier Manor and The Potomac House in Greenbrier County. She a member of the Gap Mills Church of the Nazarene.
Ella had been previously active in her church. Ella loved the Lord, loved being outside. Loved her family and friends.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years Earl in 2015(married June 17, 1955) one daughter in 1990, Carolyn Clarkson; 5 brothers, Lawrence, Robert, Hamp, Lowell and Little James; sisters, Violet, Rose, Clara and Kathalene; daughter-in- law, Shay Ripley; son-in-law; Desota Sharp.
Ella is survived by 2 sons, Earl Jr (companion Dinah Stover), Mike (fiancée Misty Everhart) both of Gap Mills; 3 daughters, Joann Sharp of Sinks Grove; Teresa Ripley of Hinton; Natalie (Bobby) Jones of Gap Mills; 10 Grandchildren: Gary Pitzer Jr, Shawn (Heather) Clarkson, Shane (Amber) Clarkson, Sabrina (Jon) Wilfong, Misty (Dave) Sites, Chad Ripley, Wesley (Jenna) Jones, Aaron (DJ) Jones, Cameron (Rachel) Mann, Narayah Ripley (fiance Jared Wickline); 12 Great Grandchildren; Ashley and Natalie Wilfong, Dakota, Carolyn and Daniel Sites, Max, Carolyn, Aliyah and Skylar Clarkson, Kye and Abbey Jones, Paxton Mann and Jackson Wickline; 2 brothers, Russell Kirk (Jean Clarkson) of Gap Mills, Buddy Kirk (Tina) of Baltimore Md; 3 Brother-in-laws, Clayton Ripley of Crawley, WV, Tom Walker of Covington, Bill McMillon of Frankford, WV; 1 Sister-in-law, Jeanette Ripley of Maryland; Several nieces, nephews and friends also survive.
Grandsons will serve as Pallbearers.
Thanks to the staff at Serenity Place in Lenora, WV, Summer County Hospital and Peyton Hospice House.
Funeral services will be held 1:00 pm. Thursday, October 5, 2017 at the Groves Funeral Home in Union with the Rev. Jimmy Rogers and Rev. Clayton Ripley officiating. Burial will follow in the Carmel Cemetery at Gap Mills.
Friends may call at the funeral home from 6 – 8 pm. Wednesday, Oct 4, 2017.
