HOLLYWOOD, WV --- Ella "Sue" Davis, 77, of Hollywood, WV passed peacefully on July 21, 2023 at Lewisburg Healthcare Center in Lewisburg, WV following a short illness. Sue was born on November 1, 1945 in Hollywood, WV to the late James and Ruby Nichols Burns. She married the love of her life, Fred Davis, on July 17, 1965 and they built a beautiful life together.
Sue was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, her sisters Willie Ratliff, Lanelle Vandegrift, Betty Bradley, and Barbara Weikle; her brothers-in-law Harold Ratliff, James Vandegrift, Roscoe Wilson, and Charles Weikle; and her sister-in-law Sherry Burns and sister-in-law, Betty Jane Hines.
She is survived by her son Jeff, his wife Janena and their daughter Kendall, all of Bridgeport, her granddaughter Hailie and husband Eli of Morgantown, her sister Lenore "Nody" Wilson; brother Johnny Burns, brother-in-law Jim Davis and wife Pam and brother-in-law Marion Bradley; sister-in-law, Norma Chandler; She has left behind a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins whom she loved dearly. She also leaves behind her beloved German Shephard, Sampson.
Sue was a homemaker for most of her life. She enjoyed cooking and baking and loved to deliver goodies to her friends and family. She was well known for her delicious cakes and custard which she would always bring to the family gatherings. Family meant the world to her and some of the best memories were of the gatherings at Holidays and Grandparent's Day. She was a member of Crimson Springs Church and had a strong faith and love of God.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. Sunday, July 30, 2023 at the Crimson Springs Church in Zenith, WV with Pastor Jim Rogers officiating. Burial will follow in Valley View Cemtery across from the church. The family will receive friends Sunday July 30, 2023 from 1:00 p.m. until the time of the service at the church. In lieu of flowers, the family asks for donations to Monroe County Animal League or any animal rescue of your choice.
