UNION, WV --- Edward Addison Patterson, known to many as "Iboy", age 85, of Union, WV went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, November 14, 2019 at the Springfield Center at Lindside, WV. Born February 11, 1934 in Union, WV, he was the son of the late Homer and Mary Elizabeth Gooch Patterson. Iboy Patterson was well known and respected throughout the community. He was always a hard worker and he never met a stranger. Iboy was retired from the B.F. Goodrich Plant at Pickaway, W.V., and was a lifelong farmer. He loved his family and friends dearly, and he was a member of the Union Baptist Church.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by nine brothers, Okey, George Triplett, Robert, Lawrence, Ernest, Harold, Herman, Richard, and Jimmy; five sisters, Thelma, Irene, Roberta, Glenna, and Lorane. Survivors include, two brothers, David Patterson and wife T. Carol of Nokesville, VA, and Clarence Patterson and wife Barbara of Brooklyn, NY; two sisters, Katherine Patterson of White Sulphur Springs, WV, and Louetta Patterson of Columbus, OH; and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins also survive.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. Saturday, November 23, 2019 at the Groves-Mann Funeral Home Chapel in Union, WV with Rev. Greg Scott and Pastor Mike Smith officiating. Burial will follow in Elmwood Cemetery, Union, WV. Friends may call Saturday, November 23, 2019 from 12:00 Noon until time of services at the funeral home.
