GAP MILLS, WV --- Edward Gene McPeak, age 85, of Gap Mills, WV, passed away on Wednesday, December 11, 2019 at the Springfield Center, Lindside, WV. Born March 14, 1934 at Gap Mills, WV, he was the son of the late Elbert and Cecilia McPeak. Edward was a retired mechanic from Modern Handley Company. He was a hard worker and never met a stranger. After his retirement, he enjoyed tinkering and piddling with small engine repairs.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Almedia Virginia McPeak, and one great-granddaughter. Survivors include one daughter, Betty Opfer and husband John of New Jersey; three sons, Cody McPeak and of New Jersey, Ralph McPeak and wife Carola of Gap Mills, WV, and David McPeak and wife Virginia of Gap Mills, WV; one brother, Cody McPeak and wife Janetta of Salt Sulphur; one sister, Virginia Thomas and husband Barry of New Jersey; seven grandsons, David, Cody, Danny, Edward, Brandon, and Eric; four granddaughters, Jessica, Crystal, Ariel, and Morgan; nine great-grandchildren, Alycia, David, Mackinzy, Noah, Emma, Charlotte, Malikai, Gannon, Gianna.

Funeral services will be held 1:00 p.m. Friday, December 20, 2019 at the Groves-Mann Funeral Home Chapel in Union, WV Pastor Mike Neel officiating. Burial will follow in Carmel Cemetery, Gap Mills, WV. The Family will receive friends Friday, December 20, 2019 from 11:00 a.m until time of services at the funeral home.
