Obituary

UNION, WV – Earl Wayne Booth, 79, of Union, WV, passed away on April 25, 2025, at the Lindside Health Care Center at Lindside, WV.  Born on October 29, 1945, in Pearisburg, VA, he was the son of the late Eugene Hunter and Glenna Catherine Carper Booth.

Earl was a 1963 graduate of Peterstown High School. He was selected to represent Peterstown High School at the National FFA convention in Kansas City, MO, in 1962.  Earl also received an FFA State Farmer's Degree in July 1963. He milked cows on the family farm for 20 years.  He also truly enjoyed raising Purebred Dorest Sheep for over 25 years. Earl had Angus Beef Cattle for approximately 50 years, was a substitute school bus driver for a few years, and then drove a milk truck for 18 years. He was a member of the Union Memorial Baptist Church.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 61 years, Judy Long Booth; his in-laws, Homer C. and Edith Wilson Long; a brother, Barry Booth; and great-nephew, Ian Dransfield.

Earl is survived by his children, Greg (fiancée Christine Brooks) and Sharon; a sister-in-law, Dianna Painter Booth; and many nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to the Union Memorial Baptist Church (PO Box 195, Union, WV 24983).

Funeral services will be held at 1:00PM on Tuesday, April 29, 2025, at the Groves-Mann Funeral Home in Union, WV, with Pastor Mark Shafer officiating. Burial will follow at the Dunn Cemetery in Peterstown, WV.

A visitation will be held from 7:00PM until 9:00PM on Monday, April 28, 2025, at the funeral home.
