WAITVILLE, WV --- Doris Jean Porterfield McDaniel Wykle, age 82, of Waiteville, WV went to her Heavenly home Wednesday, June 8, 2016 at her residence following a long illness. Born May 9, 1934 at Waiteville, WV, she was the daughter of the late Dewey Elbert and Virginia Edith Steele Porterfield. Mrs. Wykle was a loving and caring homemaker. She was a member of New Zion Union Church at Waiteville and she also attended Crimson Springs Church at Zenith.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her first husband, Jack McDaniel; one son, Dewey Eddie McDaniel; her second husband, Lonnie Wykle; one sister Dolly Williams; one brother, Kermit Porterfield; and one daughter-in-law, Karen McDaniel. Left to cherish her memory is one daughter, Cathy Ballard and husband Steve of Waiteville, WV; one son, Eric McDaniel of Waiteville, WV; one grandson, Shawn Ballard and wife Michelle of Waiteville, WV; three granddaughters, Jessica Galford and husband Jason of Waiteville, WV, Amanda Guzman and husband Julio of Waiteville, WV, and Danielle McDaniel and Ellis Bates of Sweet Chalybeate, VA; two great-grandsons, Zachary and Jackson; six great-granddaughters, Lauren, Emma, Leighana, Blaklee, Madison, and Avery; two brothers, Harmon Porterfield of Crest View, Florida and Leon Porterfield and wife Willa Mae of Waiteville, WV; one sister, Jackie Guiney and husband Bill of Waiteville, WV; special friends, Pat Crosier and Alma Harry both of Waiteville, WV.
Funeral services will be held 1:00 p.m. Saturday, June 11, 2016 at the New Zion Union Church at Waiteville, WV with Pastor Jimmy Rogers and Rev. Mark Smearman officiating. Burial will follow in New Zion Cemetery, Waiteville, WV. Ellis Bates, Mike Carson, Greg Porterfield, Jay Kellison, Barry Eppling, and Robbie Buckland will serve as Pallbearers. Friends may call Friday, June 10, 2016 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Groves Funeral Home in Union, WV and one hour prior to the services at the Church on Saturday.
