Gap Mills - Donald Lee Jones, 77, of Gap Mills passed away Friday, June 3, 2016 at his home following a short illness.
He was born at Gap Mills, WV, March 8, 1939 a son of the late Warden Walter and Gertrude Goodall Jones.
Mr. Jones was a 35 year employee of the Andrew S. Rowan Home working in the dairy, after the dairy closed he was farm manager and maintenance, after the closing of the Andrew S. Rowan Home, he worked at the Kitchen Creek Dairy. Donald was a 1959 graduate of the Romney School for the Deaf and Blind, he was affiliated with the Cokesbury United Methodist Church and a member of the Greenbrier Valley Association of the Deaf.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a daughter, Penny Marie Jones and a brother, John Lewis Jones.
Surviving is his wife of 49 years, Hazel Ratliff Jones of Gap Mills; 2 sons, Phillip McCoy Jones and companion, Chelsea of Union, Mark Anthony Jones and wife, Meagan of Peterstown; a daughter, Patty Lee Jones Cole and husband, Cliff of Zenith; a grandson, Cameron Lane Jones of Union.
Memorial Services will be held 6:00 PM. Tuesday, June 7, 2016 at the Groves Funeral Home Chapel in Union with the Rev. Marva Smearman officiating.
Friends may call at the Groves Funeral Home in Union from 4 pm., Tuesday until service time.
