GAP MILLS, WV – Deborah D. Jackson, age 62, passed away on Friday, May 24, 2024, at her home in Gap Mills, WV. Born October 5, 1961, in Union, WV, she was the daughter of the late Jessie and Hattie Dowdy.

Deborah took great pride in her cooking. She was well-known in the local community, as she worked and helped start many of the local restaurants. She, along with her daughter, owned and operated the Deli on Main in Union. She had a passion for feeding people and didn't want anyone to ever go hungry. She was a beloved mother, grandmother, and sister who loved spending time with her grandchildren and going on family vacations.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Harry L. Jackson; sisters, Sue Ratliff and Connie Pence; infant sister, Diana Dowdy; and brother, Randy Dowdy.

Survivors include one son, Eric Brooks of Gap Mills, WV; one daughter, Tonya Dolan and husband Tim of Union, WV; two grandchildren, Kristen Dolan of Peterstown, WV, and Justin Dolan of Union, WV; two brothers, James Dowdy of Lewisburg, WV, and Steve Dowdy and Kathy of Lindside, WV; four sisters, Kathy Mullins and husband Ben of Roanoke, VA, Dreama Workman and husband Wayne of Ravenna, KY, Pam Arwood and husband Danny of Gap Mills, WV, and Melanie Bradley and husband Kevin of Ronceverte, WV; and several nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends.

In keeping with Deborah's wishes, she will be cremated. A family gathering will be held at a later date.
