ALDERSON, WV --- Pastor Dean Harvey Deskins, age 66, of Alderson, WV, went home to be with the Lord Wednesday, December 15, 2021 at Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown, WV following a short illness with his family by his side. Born May 28, 1955 in Norwalk, OH, he was the son of the late James R. Deskins Sr. and Frances Carter Deskins. Dean loved the Lord with all his heart.  He served as Pastor of the Alderson Baptist Church in Alderson, WV. He also enjoyed farming and carpentry work. He always kept a neat yard and loved tending to his flowers. He cherished his family dearly, especially his grandkids, whom he often gave rides too on his riding mower.

Survivors include his loving wife, Bonnie Deskins of Alderson, WV; five daughters, Tammy Deskins of Lavon, TX, Debra Ann Campbell and husband Bob of Red Wing, Minnesota, Sabrina Boyd and husband Dylan of Lewisville, TX, Sheena Sheppard of Alderson, WV, and Grace Sheppard of Alderson, WV; three sons, Justin Deskins and wife Stacy of Charleston, WV, Aaron Deskins of Charleston, WV, and Jeromy Deskins of Ronceverte, WV; three brothers, James Ray Deskins, Jr. and wife JoAnn of Sinks Grove, WV, Stephen Duane Deskins and wife Andrea of Williamsburg, WV, and Chris Allen and wife Laura of Maxwelton, WV; two sisters, Faye Pace of Fairlea, WV, and Phyllis Jean Garcia and husband Mike of Talcott, WV; ten grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren.

A celebration of Dean's life will be held 2:00 p.m. Monday, December 20, 2021 at the Groves-Mann Funeral Home Chapel in Union, WV with Pastor Dana Stalnaker and Pastor David Deskins officiating. Burial will follow in New Lebanon Cemetery at Pickaway, WV. The family will receive friends Monday, December 20, 2021 from 12:00 noon until time of the service at the funeral home. Justin Deskins, Aaron Deskins, Michael Deskins, Sonny Deskins, Wayne Deskins, and Bob Campbell will serve as Pallbearers. Benjamin Graham, Jonathon Sheppard, Andrew Campbell, James Deskins, and Jacob Castle will serve as Honorary Pallbearers.
