WILLOW BEND, WV --- David A. South, Sr., 86, of Willow Bend, WV went to his heavenly reward Monday morning, March 20, 2017 at Peyton Hospice House in Fairlea following a long illness.
He was born at Gary, West Virginia, March 5, 1931 a son of the late Graham P. and Gracie M. Graham South.
He was a logger and farmer, affiliated with the Pentecostal Holiness Church and a veteran of the U. S. Army.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Lenora June Jackson South on January 20, 2011; 3 brothers, Ed South, Graham E. South, Sr and Jesse South; a sister, Virginia Ballard and a son-in-law, Randy Stover.
Surviving are 2 sons, David A. South, Jr. and his wife Terry of Gates, Tim South and his wife, Amy of Zenith; a daughter, Dinah South Stover and her companion, Junior Ripley of Willow Bend; a sister, Annie Dowdy of Lewisburg; brother-in-law, John Ballard; sister-in-law, Beulah South; 12 grandchildren, 23, great grandchildren and 3 great great grandchildren; 2 special granddaughters and caregivers, Wendy Stover and Penny Martin; caregivers, Amanda, Michael and Sean and Pa Paw's special princess, Marissa.
Private Graveside Rites will be held at New Lebanon Cemetery at Pickaway.
