Obituary

UNION, WV ---Daisy Madeline Wykle Parker, age 85, of Union, WV, passed away Friday, August 6, 2021 at Greenbrier Valley Medical Center following a long illness. Born September 24, 1935 she was the daughter of Homer and Eliza Taylor Wykle. Daisy retired from the B.F. Goodrich plant following 33 years and 5 months of service. She enjoyed life and her retirement life. She loved family gatherings, riding the West Virginia roads, and looking at waterfalls. Daisy enjoyed growing and looking at flowers, she loved Christmas light displays, being an aunt, and piecing together quilts. She loved to listen to country music. She loved her cat "Booties" and she absolutely loved her favorite food, ice cream.

Daisy was the last surviving member of her immediate family. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband for 48 years, Clayborn "Squeek" Parker; two sons, Roger Dale and Brent Parker; three sisters, Joyce Carter, Tula Smith, and Myrtle Underwood; two brothers, Sam Wykle and George Wykle; one sister, Elizabeth Wykle; grandparents George and Amelia Wykle; and grandparents, James Taylor and Sarah Tincher.

Survivors include two daughters, Bonita C. Parker of Union, WV, and Brenja Doane and husband James of Union, WV; four grandchildren, Rebecca Parker of Tanner, WV, Jenna Gabbert and husband Aaron of Charleston, WV, Brittany Knight and husband Roger of Union, WV, Bryan Parker and wife Deanna of Lindside, WV; four great-grandchildren Delaney Grace Gabbert, Cameron Matthew Gabbert, Kaylee Joanlynn Parker, and "one on the way", Everlee Parker; sister-in-laws, Joe Parker and June Wykle.

Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. Saturday, August 14, 2021 at the Groves-Mann Funeral Home Chapel in Union, WV. Burial will follow in Mt. Hermon Baptist Church Cemetery at Sarton, WV. The family will receive friends Friday, August 13, 2021 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Keith Blankenship, Steve Roche, Mike Dunbar, Roger Dixon, Ivan Allgyer, Bruce Weikle, and Bobby Weikle will serve as Pallbearers.
