GREENVILLE, WV --- Claribel Lee Smith Roles, age 87, of Greenville, WV, passed away Wednesday, July 31, 2019 at the Peyton Hospice House in Fairlea, WV. Born April 28, 1932 at Greenville, WV, she was the daughter of the late Samuel Ralph and Harriet Evans Smith. Claribel had worked as a transporter for Pioneer Wheels, and she retired as a desk clerk from the Bell-Air Hotel in Flemington, NJ. She loved her family and she always enjoyed reading and singing whenever she could. She also loved her church family and was a member of the Mt. Hedding United Methodist Church at Lillydale, WV.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by a grandson, Andrew Roles; brothers, Shirley and Samuel Ralph Smith; sisters, Martha Ellis, Polly Greskevitch, Betty Jo O'Brien, and Irene McPeak. Survivors include her loving husband of 70 years, Elva Carl Roles of Greenville; one daughter, Linda Green and husband Brian of Frenchtown, NJ; three sons, Roger Roles and wife Rosemary of Austin, TX, David Roles and wife Beth Ann of Bloomsbury, NJ, and Eric Roles and wife, Shawn Buchko of Fountain Inn, South Carolina; two brothers, Joseph Robert Smith and wife Linda of Cross Lanes, WV, and Samuel Steven Smith and wife Beverly of Southaven, Mississippi; one sister, Emogene Allen of Jacksonville, FL; thirteen grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren, one great-great grandchild, and numerous nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral services will be held 1:00 p.m. Saturday, August 3, 2019 at the Mt. Hedding United Methodist Church at Lillydale, WV with Pastor Carl Mouser officiating. Burial will follow in the Mt. Hedding Cemetery at Lillydale, WV. Friends may call Saturday, August 3, 2019 from 12:00 Noon until time of services at the Church. Memorial contributions may be made in Claribel's memory to the Mt. Hedding United Methodist Church.
