Clarence Benjamin "Benny" Hughes, 65 of Hollywood, went home to heaven Thursday morning, October 16, 2014, surrounded by his family, at his home following a short battle with cancer.
He was born at Gary WV, April 26, 1949 a son of the late Link and Deborah Hughes.
Mr. Hughes was employed by Cablevision until disabled in 1992. He was an avid fisherman, hunter and a member of Goode's Camp on Rt. 92.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his biological mother, Ruby Hughes; 2 brothers, Timothy Edward Hughes and Richard Hughes; 3 sisters, Doris Justice, Claudette Stangline and Elizabeth Hughes.
Surviving is his wife, Barbara Henson Hughes of Hollywood; 4 children, Brigette Hughes-Shaheen and Eric of Tupper Lake, NY, Danielle E. Hughes of Maxwelton, Timothy "Timmy" Hughes of Hollywood, Abigail Hughes of Hollywood; 2 brothers, Randy Hughes and Joan of Morley MI, Wally Hughes of Coral Springs, Fla. A sister, Deborah Maxwell of Roanoke, Va., mother-in-law, Kay Glover; father-in-law, Herschel Henson; brother-in-law, Mark Henson; 5 grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews, beloved relatives, friends and hunting buddies.
Funeral Services will be held 2:00 pm. Sunday, October 19, 2014 at the Groves Funeral Home Chapel in Union with Leo Lewis and Rev. Marva Smearman officiating.
Burial will follow at the Hollywood Cemetery at Hollywood.
Friends may call at the Groves Funeral Home in Union from 6 – 8 pm. Saturday October 18, 2014.
