SINKS GROVE, WV --- Clara Anna Walker, age 96, of Sinks Grove, WV passed away Sunday, August 16, 2015 at Springfield Center, Lindside, WV following a long illness. Born January 12, 1919 at Maggie, VA, she was the daughter of the late Grover C. and Rebecca Clementine Stegar Hutchison. Mrs. Walker retired from the Greenbrier Manor in Fairlea after 24 years of service. Following her retirement she was a loving homemaker. She enjoyed canning foods and loved tending to her flowers, especially her roses. She was also of the Baptist Faith.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence Roles Walker; one granddaughter, Marybeth Galvan; two brothers, Arnold and Wesley Hutchison; and two sisters, Grace Miller and Dessie Baden.
Survivors include one son, Daniel "Butch" Walker of Sinks Grove, WV; one step-daughter, Peggy Cromer of Princeton, WV; one brother, Carper Hutchinson and wife Laverne of Lancaster, PA; one granddaughter, Dr. Annie Walker of Crested Butte, Colorado; one great-granddaughter, Cannie Montana Galvin of Princeton, WV; one step-granddaughter, Vickie Euler and husband Darryl of Myrtle Beach, SC; one step-grandson, Robert Cromer and Kira of Princeton, WV; one step-great-granddaughter, Courtney Jade Cromer of Princeton, WV; one step-great-grandson, Drake Euler of Myrtle Beach, SC; Special friends, Phyllis Hawks, Louise Sparks, and Leta McCormick.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Thursday, August 20, 2015 at the Groves Funeral Home Chapel in Union, WV with Rev. Jimmy Allen officiating. Burial will follow in Clover Hollow Cemetery, Newport, VA. For those who will be attending the services at the Cemetery, they are asked to meet at the Cemetery by 2:00 p.m. Friends of the Family will serve as Pallbearers.
