UNION, WV --- Charles "Pete" Wilson, age 88, of Union, WV, passed away Wednesday, August 2, 2023 from an extended illness. He was the son of the late Cecil Cary and Mary Crowder Wilson. His birthplace was Talcott, WV on February 22, 1935. Pete was a hard worker, he provided for his wife and 8 kids. He enjoyed hunting, trading cars, shooting matches, loafing at Napa, watching westerns, and attending family gatherings. Pete was employed by Wiley's Trucking in which he spent many days on the road traveling across the United States. He then worked for Royster Fullen's in Union hauling fertilizer, lime, corn, feed, etc. to various farmers. Next, he worked at Hercules in Covington, VA. Pete worked 16 years and shared many a day hauling his fellow coworkers to and from the Covington Plant in his passenger van. Once again after Hercules closed Pete found himself back to truck driving a lime tanker for Quality Carries of Pembroke, VA for 20 years until he retired. He found great pleasure in spending time with his wife sitting on the deck and of course watching westerns.

Our family would like to mention all those who have prayed, called, or stopped by, "we thank you". A special "thank you" goes out to Greg Williams, Gary Thomas, Buddy Tincher, and the Napa staff in Union for allowing him a place to loaf and socialize among true friends. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one son, David Cary Wilson. Survivors include his wife of 71 years, Judith Jackson Wilson of Union and 7 children, Steve Wilson and wife Michelle of Union, WV, Gene Wilson and wife Linda of Union, WV, Teresa Boggs of Lindside, WV, Charlene Boyce and husband David of Williamsburg, VA, Michael Wilson and wife Lena of Taylorsville, NC, Anita Hicks and husband Martin of New Berm, NC, and Jason Wilson and wife Sara of Cross Lanes, WV; grandchildren, Paul Wilson and wife Crystal, Wesley Wilson, Holly McDowell and husband Paul, Shelia Williamson (step-granddaughter) late husband, Doug, Jamie Wilson and wife Kendra, Philip Wickline and wife Lori, Jerad Wickline and wife Narayah, Benjamin Boyce, Joshua Boyce, Issac Boyce, Ashley Bumgarner and husband Brandon, Chris Wilson, and Erin Hicks; great-grandchildren, Colton, McKinley and Taylynn Wilson, Madeline and Carter Browning, Bryson, Savanna, and Lucas Williamson (step-grandkids) Mazie and Mather Wilson, Shailyn, McKenna, and Grant Wickline, Jaxon, Elijah, and Adalyn Wickline, Nicholas Boyce, Grayson and Danika Bumgarner.

Memorial services will be held 2:00 p.m. Saturday, August 5, 2023 at the Mt. Prospect Baptist Church on Knobs Road in Union, WV. The family will receive friends on Saturday, August 5, 2023 from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the church.
